“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.”

Daryl Stevenett originally from Alberta, Canada, offers a mixture of guitar styles he listened to as a kid. Artists such as Valdy, Dan Hill and Gordon Lightfoot became his idols when he was a young boy. He studied classical guitar and also learned from listening to James Taylor, Jim Croce and Jose Feliciano records. He was hungry to learn everything he could, playing late into the night in the dark of his room when he was supposed to be asleep. Daryl has performed all over the US, even on cruise ships down under in Australia.
Daryl's father bought him his first guitar when he was 12 from a pawn shop in Calgary. Later at age 13, he drove his Mother around their farming community in the family station wagon collecting data for the Canadian census. With the money his Mother earned, she bought him his first real guitar, a used Suzuki classical...it cost around $90. That was the start of a life long passion of playing, performing, writing and recording.
Daryl has made his living writing jingles for many radio and TV stations, many of which are still being played today.
Daryl thanks his "New Idols", Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Doyle Dykes (and too many to mention) that have helped him evolve in his playing, thanks to youtube and everyone sharing what they know. These "Guitar Giants" have helped push the acoustic guitar to a new level and into the hands of thousands of young players giving them something to bite on and keeping them on a constructive path!
Daryl believes that creativity equals passion and he strives everyday to better his musical craft.
